Melanie will be speaking at the launch of Royal Holloway University's new Platform Journal on Friday 2nd December, at the Centre for Creative Collaboration. Melanie's performance, 'Iris Brunette' is the subject of an article by Jane Turner: 'Diegetic Theatre as a 'Place' for the Theatricalised Spectator', which features in the new edition of the journal. Melanie will be speaking about the role of spectatorship and participation in her work.

Melanie is part of the upcoming international group exhibition Their Wonderlands, curated by They Are Here at mac. Melanie will present an audio piece that links the internal gallery space to the exterior surroundings of Cannon Hill Park. The exhibition opens on 26th November and continues until 26th January. Melanie and Abigail will be presenting 'every minute, always' in Ghent next week as part of the Almost Cinema Festival. Shows run at 8pm and 10pm from 18th - 22nd October. 'every minute, always', a headphones performance in a cinema by Melanie Wilson and Abigail Conway will shortly be appearing at the Edinburgh Festival in the British Council Showcase at Summerhall venue. Melanie will be presenting the culmination of her month of work on the Rules and Regs residency on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th March at South Hill Park in Bracknell. Her work in progress is entitled 'Handmade' and will be presented alongside exciting new ideas from artists Florence Peake and Jo Bannon. Melanie is one of six commissioned artists who have been chosen by BAC to design a bedroom for future resident artists to stay in. The bedroom will be inaugerated as part of the One on One Festival from March 29th to April 9th and will contain a new interactive audio and illustration performance called 'Self Portrait with Frida'. On 22nd and 23rd October, Melanie presented showings of her new sound work Autobiographer at the Roundhouse Studio, together with a cast of three supporting performers Catherine Dyson, Sabina Netherclift and Bernadette O'Brien. The piece was received very positively and plans are underway now to complete work on the piece for a scheduled premiere in Spring 2011. Ed Collier and Melanie are delighted to have been awarded a Theatre Sandbox commission. Their project 'The Observatory' is an audio led adventurous fairy tale for children aged between 7 and 10 and their adults, staged both on a high street and in a theatrical playspace. More details here.

On 8th and 9th May, Abigail Conway and Melanie will present the first outing of their headphones performance for cinema at Bristol Old Vic as part of the Forest Fringe Microfestival at Mayfest. ‘every minute, always’ is an installation performance that takes place in a cinema (the auditorium of the Old Vic for this outing), and which is created for two participants to undertake together. Seated amongst other participating couples, the experience unfolds for each participant through headphones and in concert with what they see on screen.

On 2nd and 3rd April, Melanie will be scratching a new idea for an audio performance at the BAC Forest Fringe microfestival. 'The View from Here' will be an headphones experience for one person at a time and is an adaptation of a piece Melanie made for radio in 2008. The finished piece will be presented in July as part of BAC's One on One Festival.
